MCC Work is Underway

Creating a fresh new space for the community to enjoy

Chairman Ian Morton and the volunteer team at Micklefield Community Centre have been working even harder than usual over the past few months considering designs and quotes for the refurbishment of the bar and lounge area in the centre. Funded by Marsh & Micklefield Big Local, it is great to see the work is now underway and that a fresh, new welcoming space is being created for members and visitors to use. From a bigger door to improve accessibility, a new bar area, lighting, decorating and new furniture this is one big project for the team to manage.

To quote the team:

We’re having a bit of a refurbishment. This will provide you with a modern local venue to hire. It’s also home to our many darts, pool and football players who represent Micklefield Sports & Social Club. It’s all part of our plan to provide you with a Community Centre you can be proud of. Our huge thanks to Marsh and Micklefield Big Local for their backing of this project and to High Wycombe Town Committee for their help in funding replacement furniture.

Unfortunately, while the work is taking place there has been some disruption, but it is good to know that throughout regular activities like Bingo are continuing and taking place in the main hall.

We can’t wait to see the final results and want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in making this happen.

Keep up with the progress by following the Micklefield Community Centre on Facebook.
