Farewell Carol - Thank You!
Farewell Carol : Wishing you a happy retirement!
We are sad to say that Carol who provided such amazing administrative support to Marsh and Micklefield Big Local decided to retire at the end of August and although we are sad to see her leave, we know that in between her time with family and travelling she will still be popping up in and around Marsh and Micklefield.
Born in Colchester, Carol moved to Micklefield just before Christmas in 1998 and had previously worked in several office-based roles including administration and Human Resources, as a trainer and assessor. Carol first heard about, and became interested in, Marsh and Micklefield Big Local when she attended one of our community events held at Marsh School several years ago when she was still working full time. Along with another Micklefield resident, in 2017 she applied for a Community Chest grant founded Micklefield Gardening Group and worked on the original design and installation of the planters on Micklefield Road/Herbert Road, which she nurtures to this day.
Carol actively volunteered both in the community and as a member of the Partnership before being appointed in an administrative role to support the work of M&MBL early in 2020.
Carol loves being out and about meeting people and getting involved in all things to do with the environment. Her house being so close to the woods is a particular joy as she loves being in a natural environment and gardening. Although she doesn’t have time to visit as often as she would like, Carol also enjoys going to Hills Cafe, even taking family there when they visit!
Her plans now include spending more time on her own personal interest of Scientology and seeing more of her family and friends. She will also be planning a trip to Canada to visit family and celebrate birthdays.
Carol will be very much missed by everyone on the Marsh & Micklefield Big Local Partnership, but we wish her a long and happy retirement.
